Andy Scurto

President

Andy Scurto

As president, Andy Scurto is responsible for ISCS's corporate vision and strategic direction. The founder of ISCS, his deep understanding of both insurance and IT has led to SurePower Innovation's incorporation of uniquely rich insurance flexibility and capabilities, over its three-generation development.

Andy is a rarity among company presidents in reserving significant time to work in the trenches with customers. He notes, "If I weren't solving client business challenges, I wouldn't be in this business." His strategic decisions for SurePower Innovation are informed by this continued customer contact and knowledge of both the large, strategic issues and the minutiae of the insurance business learned through more than 25 years working specifically with insurance industry systems.

Andy is passionate about technology and continually exploring how the newest technology developments can provide practical benefits for the insurance industry. He speaks frequently at industry conferences and publishes in industry publications.

Andy received his bachelor's degree in computer engineering from San Jose State University.

Tim Shelton

EVP & CFO

Tim Shelton

Tim Shelton helps form and execute ISCS's financial and overall company strategies. He has more than 15 years' experience in insurance industry, 12 as an ISCS senior executive and three as an advisor to ISCS following its founding.

Tim handles high-level contract negotiations and sales contacts, as well as building banking relationships.

Tim's experience prior to ISCS, includes 16 years' experience in sales and marketing management roles, including a tenure at EDS. He also worked in accounting and financial management at Sprint and NCR. He is a licensed property and casualty agent in California, Texas and Florida.

Tim received his bachelor's degree in commerce and accounting from the University of Santa Clara.

Doug Moore

VP & CTO

Doug Moore

Doug Moore has more than 25 years' of remarkable achievements in insurance technology, including chief engineering and design roles in the development of four different carrier automation systems.

As ISCS's Chief Technology Officer, he ensures that ISCS's strategic decisions regarding SurePower Innovation's architecture and data model position the solution to meet insurers' needs. He is responsible for evaluating emerging technologies and spearheading innovative projects such as development of Power Tools, ISCS's collaborative design, testing and deployment environment, and the direct-to-consumer sales portal.

Doug has served as president of two software and technology companies, CSS, Inc. and Innovex Technology, and as vice president of Applied Systems Carrier Products Division (now InsureSoft). During his career, he has designed and built three custom workers' compensation systems (policy, billing, claims, and managed care), and has led implementation of more than 400 rate versions across many lines of business.

Doug received his bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Alabama, and completed three years of post-graduate study and research in highly scalable, parallel computing systems and taught graduate-level courses in electronics and circuits for two years.

Leslie Holden-Mikesell

VP, Professional Services

Leslie Holden-Mikesell

Leslie Holden-Mikesell provides the leadership behind ISCS's industry-leading services delivery. Her responsibilities include SurePower Innovation implementations, technical support, and training, as well as overseeing alliances with service partners. Leslie  brings to ISCS the insight gained from her own experience as an executive in the property and casualty insurance industry responsible for mission-critical projects, managing vendor-partners, and ensuring communication among the complex set of stakeholders that comprise an insurance organization.

Leslie has more than 20 years' senior management experience creating high-performing teams and delivering enterprise solutions to Fortune 500, mid-size, and start-up companies. Most recently she served as vice president, Enterprise Business Solutions at ICW Group Insurance Companies, a 50-state, multi-line family of property and casualty insurance carriers. Prior to ICW, she was with Silicon Space, LLC, building and leading teams that delivered custom application software and was a key member of the executive team that spun off Covario, an online marketing analytics company. Her early career includes positions at PeopleSoft (acquired by Oracle) and as a partner in a software company offering risk management solutions to the P&C insurance industry. 

Leslie received her bachelor's degree in business administration from West Texas A&M University.

VP, Sales

Conrad Garvey

Conrad Garvey brings ISCS more than 30 years' experience in the insurance industry. For insurance companies evaluating policy administration systems, Conrad brings a deep knowledge of the complete insurance cycle and rich insight into insurance company, MGA, and agent needs. Prior to joining ISCS, he most recently held a policy administration system sales and sales management position for a major software vendor.

Conrad's experience also includes sales of large systems and agency management software at Applied Systems and AMS; management and application software sales at IVANS; and owner of Comand Industries, a personal lines comparative rating software company.

Conrad believes the right selection process builds a foundation for the solution to drive an insurance company's growth and success. The process can and should include strategic decision making, mutual discovery, proper expectation setting, and open methods that carry through deployment to a long-term, trusted partnership

Jeff Bingham

Jeff Bingham

Jeff Bingham has more than 25 years' experience in the insurance industry, including five years immediately prior to joining ISCS as director of Information Systems for American Bonding Insurance Company.

Jeff manages ISCS's computer center and customer-outsourced operations, including customer output fulfillment (printing and mailing) of policies and policy documents, billing, and notices.

Jeff received his bachelor's degree in business from University of Houston.

Myron Meier

VP, Product Development

Myron Meier

Myron Meier has almost 30 years' Silicon Valley software industry experience, including eight years as owner and president of Midas Software, a successful enterprise software company serving Fortune 100 clients. Midas was acquired by FASTech, which was then acquired by Brooks Automation, now part of Applied Materials. Myron continued in development and management roles at Brooks for nine years.

Today, Myron leads ISCS's product development team and is responsible for high-level technical design, system architecture, process and technical direction. Myron is a prime driver of the fast-paced R&D at ISCS. He received his bachelor's degree in computer engineering from San Jose State University.

John T. Riley, CPCU

VP, Major Accounts

John T. Riley, CPCU

John Riley brings more than 30 years' experience in the insurance business to his support of effective communication between ISCS and its clients.

Having founded and served as president/CEO of two multi-line insurance carriers, John brings an understanding of the challenges and demands of the insurance executive's role.

Prior to ISCS, John served as vice president of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a division of the TATA group, where he specialized in the insurance business and was responsible for TCS's Insurance Development Center. He also has served in senior management for a major health insurer.

John received his bachelor's degree in business administration, with majors in insurance and economics, from University of Iowa. He is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).

Mike Wanzong

Mike Wanzong's more-than-20-years' insurance industry experience informs his leadership of ISCS's insurance solutions team. He ensures that ISCS's solutions are highly relevant to the business and operational needs of insurance organizations. He has a detailed understanding of SurePower Innovation's comprehensive capabilities and customer lines of business.

Mike's knowledge of a breadth of insurance administration situations often leads to his SurePower Innovation demonstrations becoming an interactive discussion of the potential client's pain points and how SurePower Innovation can resolve them, to the potential client's pleasant surprise at the depth and detail of the solution.

Prior to ISCS, Mike served eight years at California Compensation Insurance Company, where he led a system design and development team that replaced legacy systems with client server software.

Mike received his degrees in math and computer science from Gavilan College.

Julie Stermer

AVP, Customer Support, Strategy & Training

Julie Stermer

Julie Stermer has more than 25 years' experience in software automation for mission critical enterprise operations. Prior to joining ISCS in 2006, Julie was at Brooks Automation, a developer of enterprise software for semiconductor manufacturers. She served as a member of the senior management team designing agile processes that significantly increased delivery to schedule and developed innovative QA processes and metrics for continual software improvement. In more than eight years at Brooks her roles included principal software engineer, manager of QA and new releases, and developer and manager of offshore QA and documentation teams. Brooks acquired FASTech Integration, and there, Julie held roles of increasing leadership and responsibility as senior applications engineer and senior consulting engineer.

Julie received her B.S.E. in Computer Engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has completed post-graduate work in semiconductor manufacturing technology, several software languages, project management, software training, team management, CMMI development and administration. She is a certified Scrum Master.

Barry Ralston

Barry Ralston

Barry Ralston has more than 18 years of technology, data and analytics experience. As AVP, Business Intelligence at ISCS, Ralston ensures that SurePower Innovation's analytic and business intelligence (BI) capabilities enable customers to access and understand critical core insurance data, and therefore, make better-informed business decisions.

Prior to joining ISCS, Barry served as AVP of data management for Infinity Insurance, where he developed and executed data strategy for both transactional and analytical purposes. Barry has also held architect positions at Hewlett-Packard and ComFrame Software.

Barry is a published author in the field of business intelligence, and a patented creator of Zip Rator, a method of providing an insurance rate comprising storing combinations rates based on fields of information in a database, receiving a piece of information relating to one of the fields of information, and pulling an insurance rate based on a pre-calculated average of premiums for individuals.
